Manitoba Film & Music (MFM) in partnership with the Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) is pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Manitoba Indigenous Short Film Fund. 


Three filmmaking teams were selected by jury and will receive $20,000 to create a short film.  


The projects include:  

  • The Thing Is: a dramatic short that quietly explores the disorienting reality of grief and the messy ways that people try to cope with it:
    • Jessie J. Willard – Writer, Director, Producer
    • Paige Frost – Co-Producer
    • Rink & Moon Films 
  • Soulless: a supernatural drama about grief, addiction and loneliness, and the family ties that endure:
    • Tyshana Hobson – Writer, Producer
    • J. J. Neepin – Director
    • J. J. Neepin Films Inc. 
  • ‘POUF': a gay bestie comedy featuring queer representation and insane hijinks:
    • Junior Whitefish – Co-Director, Producer  
    • Oliver Darrius Merrick King (ODMK) – Writer, Co-Director, Producer 
    • Charlene Moore – Producer (mentor)
    • Fat Black Wolf Productions Inc.
